Dr. Faqir Bhatti, the Scientific Director of the Centre for Advanced Studies in Mathematics (CASM), SBASSE, was invited to speak at the last gathering of the Combinatorial and Computational Mathematics Centre(Com2MaC) at the Pohang University of Science and Technology(POSTECH), in Pohang, South Korea. There were three nations represented (China, Korea and Pakistan) on August 21 – 24, 2014 to discuss the uplifting and related problems in mathematics and find the ways to collaborate in research.
Dr. Bhatti briefed the participants about the Centre for Advanced Studies in Mathematics and its research activities and also various research groups working in mathematics. He mentioned that more PhDs have been produced in Mathematics in Pakistan during the last ten years.
